Contact me via this webpage, phone or email to start the process for intake. We can set up a brief 15-minute consultation call to touch base and see what your needs are and whether I might be a fit for you. Once we decide to work together, I will have you fill out forms and come to an initial assessment first session to gain more information about your unique story and presenting issues so that we can collaboratively build and set treatment goals. We will discuss treatment approach options and how often to meet. We may spend a few sessions in consultation on treatment planning or we may be ready to jump right in to treatment. Throughout treatment, I will check in regularly about progress and your goals so that we ensure you are on track with what you set out to accomplish in therapy. Bringing in parts of your support system for focused support or family therapy sessions may be beneficial but not required. Your ongoing feedback and collaboration with me is a crucial part of the process.

I am licensed as a psychologist in both NC and NY, and offer telehealth services to both NC and NY-based clients. I am also a PSYPACT-approved psychologist, so I am able to offer teletherapy services to low-risk clients in any PSYPACT participating state (https://psypact.site-ym.com/page/psypactmap). I offer in-person services on Tuesday and Thursday mornings in my Carrboro office to clients in the NC RTP area, with COVID precautions and considerations in place.

Please see below for additional information about appointments, fees, office location and scheduling with me.

Appointment & Fee Information

Insurance

Please be aware that I am currently out-of-network with insurance plans. However, services may be covered if you have out-of-network benefits. I am easily able to provide you with detailed monthly Superbills that contain the information necessary for you to pursue reimbursement from your insurance company.

Please contact your insurance provider to verify how your plan may compensate you for therapy services. Questions you can ask to help determine your benefits:

  • Does my health insurance plan include mental health benefits?

  • What is the reimbursement rate for seeing an out-of-network mental health provider?

  • Do I have a deductible? If so, what is it and have I met it yet?

  • Does my plan limit how many sessions per calendar year I can have?

  • Does my plan cover out-of-network telehealth visits?

  • Do I need a pre-approval?

  • Is a telehealth modifier required on my Superbill if I am going to do telehealth sessions?

Session Rates

$225 Initial Assessment (60 min)

$175 Individual Therapy (45 min)

$200 Individual Therapy (60 min)

$200 Family Support Therapy (60 min)

$175 Consultation Session (45 min)

Other Rates & Fees

Client-requested documentation such as reports, treatment summaries, and letters are available to ongoing clients for a fee.

Clients are strongly discouraged from having me supoenaed or provide treatment records for the purpose of litigation. However, in instances where this is desired, there is a separate outlined fee structure that can be discussed with ongoing clients.

Appointments

Telehealth appointments are available Monday through Thursday, with some early morning and late afternoon availability. In-person appointments are available on Tuesday and Thursday mornings in my Carrboro office. Please note I am in a second floor office suite and there is not an elevator.

Payment

Payment is due on the day services are provided. Currently, all major credit cards, including HSA cards, are accepted as forms of payment. Invoices and statements will be provided upon request.

Cancellation Policy

If you are unable to attend a session, please cancel at least 24 hours beforehand. I will try to reschedule you within the same week if possible. There is a missed session fee up to the full session cost for late cancellations or no shows.

Good Faith Estimate Rights

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost

Under a newer 2022 law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. I will provide this to you at the outset of therapy and yearly to make sure you understand anticipated costs associated with treatment. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 347-746-8245.
